We have been collaborating artists our entire married lives. Our work is always evolving. The experiences we share, or individually participate in, become a part of what we create. Bruce photographs and throws pots and I paint and create jewelry and other objects from precious metals. Bruce's photos are sometimes the inspiration or reference for my paintings and often times I sculpt and carve into his pottery. The results from our combined knowledge and skills becomes something beautiful that we enjoy sharing. Enjoy.

New Face Pot Series

So we're working together on a large group of pots with various faces sculpted on them. This is still ongoing and what you see are the raw clay beginnings. The next step will be to bisque fire them. They may not all make it through this first step. Many variables come into play and sometimes the clay will crack or break open. The pieces that make it through will then be glazed. This glazing process will be done in various ways depending on what the particular face needs. Right now we are planning to glaze all of them in the interiors, others will be glazed on the exteriors as well but just around the face, others will have no glaze on the outsides and will have stains and paint on the faces. The second firing will occur after they are glazed. Again there are variables that sometimes occur and not all pots turn out successful. The last step will be with those successful pieces that will get painted or stained....yes it is a long and involved, hands on process but we're hoping for the best....I will post the results!
