We have been collaborating artists our entire married lives. Our work is always evolving. The experiences we share, or individually participate in, become a part of what we create. Bruce photographs and throws pots and I paint and create jewelry and other objects from precious metals. Bruce's photos are sometimes the inspiration or reference for my paintings and often times I sculpt and carve into his pottery. The results from our combined knowledge and skills becomes something beautiful that we enjoy sharing. Enjoy.

Looking for a good home!

I'm looking for a good home for some of my paintings since I've moved onto another theme and another palette, these paintings need a new place to dwell.

New Adirondack Collection

Well, I'm pretty darn excited about my new beginnings. The cardinals came out great. I did not make a template or pattern for them but just drew on the silver and cut them out. These are of course just models and I plan to tweak them before putting them "out there". I plan to include many other Adirondack birds in this collection as well.

I've had this beautiful stone for years. I've always wanted to use
it but never felt inspired but now it just sang out to me from the depths of my tool box!!! Doesn't it look like a beautiful Adirondack lake at night with tall grasses in the foreground and dark clouds settling in over the water? I'm so pleased with the way this piece came out and the links I made to look like twigs are just enough to give it a unified look.  I may not be able to part with this one!

Picture Jasper set in Sterling frame with hand cut tree
Well, here are my last batch of finished pieces. I'm quite happy with the results and have been seriously considering working on a separate group of work. I've done a small amount of research on "Adirondack Jewelry" and found most of the work being done is cast for commercial levels of production. I'm certainly not considering production but instead thinking I might enjoy using the "Adirondack" theme in a body of work. I'm pretty sure there aren't many followers of my blog but still I'd love to know what you're thinking of this if you should read this post. I've also begun using fine silver and fusing it to look like the texture of twigs and tree branches. It's pretty exciting to do so I've played with and unfortunately wasted a lot of silver getting the "hang" of fusing. It's all about getting the correct balance of heat and knowing when to pull the heat away.  In any case I'll be posting some of my results. I expect this work will take me a good part of a year to complete and I intend to market it in a "smart" way. My track record for selecting venues hasn't been great but I'm learning and despite what my Dad used to say about me having to learn the hard way: I'm a fast learner!!!!
